About Us

Siddha system of medicine is the traditional medicine of Tamilians which came from great knowledge of legendry siddhars who lived in the ancient period.They left their knowledge to us in the form of ancient palm scripts.

The knowledge that was passed down from the siddharshave been saved by those who belongs to the family practicing siddha medicine in a traditional way from the beginning to the present. Dr. M. Sankar, who belongs to the family practiced traditional siddha medicine for five generation. He was born in a village named Thirunilainear by Redhils, Tamil Nadu, India & he started his career at the age of Twelve& also involved in many medical researches.

He got his great knowledge from his grandfather VAITHIYAR PALAYAM & his father Siddha legend Vaithiyar Maamallan Munuswamy. From his childhood, he was taught to collect herbs, to prepare medicine & to consult patient by his father.

After that, he tuned himself in the field of Siddha Medicine under “Siddha Maruthuva Kalainjar Dr. M.SOURIRAJAN“ for 9 years who belongs to the family practiced traditional siddha Medicines in the court of “SarabajiMannan” ruling period in Tanjavore.

He got his degree in H.P.S.M. from “Siddha Arts college” in Chennai & Degree in D.S.S.M. from “Annai Siddha MaruthuvaGurukulam” & then he studied & got his pandit degree from “Madhurai Siddha MaruthuvaGurukulam”& studied traditional medicine from “ANTON JAYASURYA”& got degree in M.D. From ACCUPUNCTURE UNIVERSITY situated in Srilanka.

From the open university of Srilanka, he got Ph.D Degree by Submitted a research report on a topic “Siddha Maruthuvamum ElumbuMurivu Sigichaiyum” (Siddha Medicine & Bone Joint Treatment)& got a degree in M.A. Sociology from “ANNAMALAI UNIVERSITY” situated in Chidambaram & then he got a degree in yoga & naturopathy from the university of “MANONMANIAM SUNDARANAR UNIVERSITY” & then he got first class degree in D.S.M., from “TAMIL UNIVERSITY” in Tanjavore. He studied in “Chennai homeopathy Academy” & got a degree in DHMS.

He spread awareness about Siddha Medicines by his inspirational essays in Monthly Magazines such as health time, health today, health beauty, arokiyapasumaithayagam, karudan, simmam, MarundhuUlagam& 20 above weekly Magazines & also in Daily Papers such as Muroasoli, Theekadhir, Dhinakaran, MaalaiSudar.

He is working for the development of Siddha Medicines by delivering inspirational speeches in Many Medical Seminars & Conferences.

He is acting as an Secretary in “AadhiSiddhar Welfare Association” & he is also a General Secretary in Federation of Siddha Medicine Association for the Zone of North Tamil Nadu.

He has given interviews to many Medical programs telecasted by televisions such as Raj TV, Jaya TV & also his interview was telecasted in a London television “DAN TAMIL OLI” & he running a medical Magazine in a name of “MAAMALLAN MARUTHUVA MALAR”

He was honoured& awarded as siddha Maruthuva Thilagam, Siddha Maruthuva Chakravarthi, Siddha Maruthva Kavalar, Siddha maruthuva Kalai Semmal, Siddha maruthuva Mani, Siddha maruthuvaThoodhuvar for his great works in the field of Siddha Medicine.

Mrs.MANIKEKALAIW/o. Dr. M.SANKAR got her certified degree in SMP from “Madhurai Siddha MaruthuvaGurukulam” & she helps prepare Medicines & writes Medical essays in Monthly magazines.

Dr.M.Sankar was blessed with three sons. His elder son, Dr.S.M.PRAVINRAJ, B.S.M.S., who is specialised in Siddha & Varma treatments. His second son Dr.S.M.PRASADRAJ B.A.M.S., M.S. completed his UG degree & undergoing his PG degree in MS. His younger son Dr.S.M.PRATHAPRAJ B.H.M.S., doing his UG degree in Homeopathy, Mrs. D.CHARUMATHI B.E., W/o.Dr. S.M. PRAVINRAJ doing her PG degree in M.B.A. (Hospitality Management) who helps by manages the hospital.

Many Cinema Celebrities, Politicians, Ministers was treated by Dr. M.SANKAR & he is family doctor for many Celebrities.

Our hospital was initially started in the name of “MAAMALLAN SIDDHA MARUTHUVA NILAYAM” & then it was developed as “MAAMALLAN SIDDHA MEDICAL FOUNDATION” & now with the great work of siddha Ayurvedha, Homeopathy doctors, it is shinning as “ MAAMALLAN INDIAN MEDICAL FOUNDATION(MIMF)”.
